Mount Hood Medical Center Foundation raises funds to support the programs and services of Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, as it meets the needs of East Multnomah County residents.Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center has served Gresham and the east county since 1912. Among the hospitals comprehensive services are:* Emergency and Intensive care* Cardiac services* Surgery and minimally invasive surgery* Cancer care and radiation oncology, including the Breast Health Center* Family Birth Center* Gastroenterology and Endoscopy servicesIn fiscal year 2021, philanthropic contributions supported programs in these primary areas:Patient Care $311,657Education and Training $7,000Community Benefit & Other Programs$33,139Some of the specific projects funded in this year were as follows: Provided funding to support the hospitals COVID-19 preparedness and response. Provided continuing education scholarships to nurses and other health professionals. Purchased an upper body ergometer exercise machine for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients. Purchased compression garments for lymphedema patients to prevent the return of swelling, allowing patients to regain use of the affected extremity. Provided emergency medications, durable medical equipment, and other health- related supplies to uninsured, under-insured, and low-income patients. Collaborated with Ride Connection to provide transportation for seniors, low- income patients, and patients with disabilities to medical appointments. Supported complementary therapies for cancer patients including nutrition education, exercise, art therapy and yoga classes. Supported child passenger safety seat activities for the community. Supported the care and maintenance of the healing garden.
