Mercy Health is a mission-driven, nonprofit, catholic Health system. Mercy Health operates acute care hospitals, long-term care facilities, housing sites for the elderly, home Health agencies, hospice programs, wellness centers and other healthcare organizations. Mercy Health's home office provides services and support to the entire system, including but not limited to: providing governance, management oversight, strategic leadership, focusing resources to assure the healing mission, providing access to lower cost debt financing to support operations, improving clinical outcomes and reducing operating costs.
The twenty-two hospitals included on this return extend the healing ministry of Jesus by improving the health of their communities with an emphasis on people who are poor and under-served. This is accomplished by demonstrating behaviors reflecting our core values of compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life and service. Total community benefit provided in 2019 was $431,264,951.
