Program areas at Maine Tree Foundation
Certified Logging Professionals (CLPS) provides training and educational opportunities to Maine Loggers. The program is committed to recognizing the skill and professionalism of those who meet and exceed our standards. CLP had many training sessions virtual and in-person and trained over 33 new CLPs along with the site visits required.
Teachers Tour continue to be very successful and are well attended each year. Austin Wilkins award has continued to be well received.
The Holt Research Forest is the site of long-term forest ecosystem research in Arrowsic, Maine. Maine TREE acquired the 350-acre property in 2014 through a merger with the Holt Woodland Research Foundation. In 2021, there was a harvest on the property and also, we have done some upgrades to the property. We continue training programs on the property and continue providing opportunities. We also had two technicians to help with the forest inventory and after harvest inventory.
