Program areas at Legal Aid of Napa Valley
Senior Legal services program: assists persons 60 years or older in a broad range of areas, including elder abuse and neglect, public benefits, long term care and nursing home problems, in-home support services, health care directives, simple wills and small estate planning, and debt and commercial problems: educates seniors and the community about issues affecting elders such as abuse and consumer and financial fraud.
Immigrant Legal services program: educates immigrants and the community about immigration law and related issues; assists immigrans with a variety of immigration law matters, including obtaining visas, permanent residency, violence against women act petitions, deferred action for childhood arrivals (daca); provides Legal advice to immigrants on housing, working conditions, unpaid wages, illegal evictions, diecrimination and retaliation and other matters.
Baseline Legal services program: assists people who are homeless, the disabled, veterans and victims of domestic violence with such Legal problems as access to public benefts, unlawful detainer defense and related housing matters and problems related to employment, family law, domestic violence and civil rights; educates other ervice providers about Legal issues related to the homeless and other vulnerable populations.
