La Familia provides a foster family based treatment program that trains, reimburses, and supervises families to provide homes for seriously emotionally disturbed children and adolescents this program provides a matching service for the particular needs of the child treatment for each child is carefully supervised by La Familia's clinical staff of social workers, counselors, and psychiatrists the goal of treatment foster care is to help children and youth transition successfully back to their families of origin or into an adoptive home.
Nm cyfd grants - the organization receives federally funded awards from the new mexico children, youth, & families department, the fiesta program plans and coordinates social opportunities, provides a comprehensive lending library of books and videos, provides educational workshops, facilitates support groups and provides training events for families. Other funding is received to prevent child maltreatment among at-risk families, to increase foster parent retention, to increase the number of foster families in nm, to provide placement options for children in cyfd's custody, and to create support to adoptive families and provide them with specific intervention based on the needs of the children in the home
La Familia is a full-service adoption agency, the agency counsels birth parents about their alternatives, places children for adoption, and conducts pre-placement studies and post-placement supervision of adoptions other specialized services include open adoptions, transracial adoptions, grandparent and stepparent adoptions, relinquishment counseling, and interstate compact for placement children studies
