Kings Mountain Associated Parents

As our organization continued to work through the difficulties created by the pandemic, our operations were often in flux. As restrictions and recommendations changed quickly, so did our priorities and opportunities to create a meaningful impact on the education of the students of Kings Mountain elementary school. As restrictions lifted and access to campus for students, volunteers, and additional staff improved we were able to restore a science specialist for the k-3 students. We were also able to cover the cost of enrichment, funding a taiko drums class. We continued to fund, in partnership with the school district, a third full time teacher at the school as well as a paraprofessional. A few community building events returned such as stone soup and 5th grade promotion. We also made an extra effort to improve the library at the school this year. Spending a little extra from our discretionary fund to update it for students.
