Program areas at Ja Idaho
Ja has been Idaho's leading organization dedicated to educating students k-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy through experimental programs and is now operating under the Ja of Utah umbrella due to the merge of the Idaho and Utah areas. Ja lessons prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking into the workplace. Students put these lessons into action, and learn the value of contributing to their communities. Ja is proactively creating a more skilled workforce and a more prosperous Idaho. The details of the three program below consist of the Idaho activity within the Utah umbrella. Going forward, the Idaho activity will be presented in combination with the Utah activity.elementary school program: it is the foundation of the organization's k-12 curricula. Seven sequential themes, each with five volunteer-led sessions, each program includes hands-on activites to inspire and change students' lives by helping them understand business and economics at an early age. 936 students served totaling 168 volunteer contact hours.
High school program: economics and business curricula, with a strong emphasis on ethics awareness, for students grades 9-12. The dynamic interaction between the volunteers and the students promotes active learning and brings theory to life. 249 students were served totaling 50 contact hours as some students participated in a virtual interactive learning experience that was hosted without live volunteers. Due to the merge of Idaho and Utah Ja areas, all programs conducted in the 2021-2022 school year will be registered under Ja of Utah.
Middle school program: includes economics, business, and work readiness curricula for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. The dynamic interaction between the volunteers and the students promotes active learning and brings theory to life. 200 students totaling no contact hours as students participated in a virtual interactive learning experience that was hosted without live volunteers. Due to the merge of Idaho and Utah Ja areas, all programs conducted in the 2021-2022 school year will be registered under Ja of Utah.
