Program areas at IMHC
The Indiana Minority Health Coalition (imhc) administers Indiana's state funded Minority Health initiative (mhi) under which imhc funds a network of 21 local Minority Health agencies. This network providesd Health education, Health intervention, advocacy, research, and outreach services to help reduce and eliminate Health disparities experienced by Indiana's Minority populations. The network reached and served more than 92,000 beneficiaries.
He black women's Health imperative (bwhi), a cdc grantee, funded imhc to carry out the national diabetes prevention program (ndpp), a year-long evidence-based intervention designed to preclude the onset of type 2 diabetes. Imhc provided the program in both english and spanish to about 120 beneficiaries.
Imhc contracted with corizon Health to carry out prison Health services including providing psychiatrists to deliver mental Health services within the state's prisons, and case managers to facilitate, so as to reduce recidivism, the connection of paroled prisoners to community Health, social and employment resources. Campaign" outperformed the other 25 states in its category to win a national enrollment contest by enrolling 4,206 new users into text4baby. Imhc was recognized for this achievement
