Program areas at Humane Society of Greater Miami Dade County Society for Pocta Aap
Spay/neuter clinics: all data indicates that pet overpopulation is directly related to lack of sterilization. A key part of our mission is to provide affordable and accessible spay/neuter services. We operate two low-cost, preventive care veterinary clinics - one in north Miami beach and the other in cutler bay. Our goal is to end our community's pet overpopulation problem and to help the County achieve its goal of becoming a " no kill community". To meet these challenges, we performed more than xxx low-cost and sometimes free spay/neuter surgeries in 2021. Our cutler bay clinic closed dec. 2021.
Increase awareness of the organization's other programs and services including Humane education, pet therapy, off-site adoptions, outreaches, donor stewarding and volunteer services. During the fiscal year these programs were somewhat restricted due to covid-19. These restrictions include limited hours, conducting programs via zoom meetings, etc.
Adoptions: each year, we take in thousands of unwanted, neglected, abused and otherwise homeless animals. We are able to give these animals a second chance by providing care, food, shelter and extraordinary medical attention, including preventive vaccines, spay or neuter surgeries, for as long as it takes to find them homes with kind, responsible and committed caregivers.
