Program areas at Holy Spirit Academy of Monticello
Salaries: Holy Spirit Academy's primary expenditure is the salary of faculty and staff. We recognize the value of exceptional faculty who are well-rounded individuals and dedicated to the mission of the school. Our teachers go above and beyond in classroom instruction and many supervise extracurricular activities. Our staff are likewise dedicated professionals who serve the students and their families.
School expansion/growth: Holy Spirit Academy's development plan includes increasing enrollment for students in grades 9-12. The current facility will accommodate up to 65 students, and we are making plans for further growth. Our strategic plan process stresses continued prudent use of financial resources. Vita society membership and monthly donor programs have been established to foster sustainability of the school for years to come. Participation in the life of st. henry catholic church offers students spiritual nourishment through the gift of the Holy mass, daily communal prayer, and frequent confession. Prayer and sacraments offer students and faculty an intimate experience of christ, which brings to life the study of his truth in the classroom. With a dedicated fine-arts faculty, expansion of our music and drama programs will grow as our student body grows. Our exceptional art program is a four-year required course that educates students in a variety of traditional mediums. Growth also increases the need for more science and lab equipment for hands-on learning. Act prep classes are offered and guidance counseling is available to students. We are pleased to place graduates in top-tier colleges and have a supportive career-placing component for our upperclassmen. Holy Spirit Academy acquired accreditation status from napcis (the national association of catholic and independent schools) in may, 2020. Holy Spirit Academy received canonical recognition as a 'catholic school' from the archdiocese of st paul minneapolis on october 2, 2020. Holy Spirit Academy has many extracurricular activities where faculty and parents serve as supervisors. Current clubs include drama program, mock trial, boy's basketball, girl's volleyball, golf club, chess club, yearbook club, cross country, music service at a local nursing home, parent book club, ski outings, ambassadors for life club, student council, swing and irish dancing, and senior trip.
