Residents have private bedrooms, shared bathrooms, and 24-hour staff support as well as daily meals, snacks, personal care items, clothing, internet service, laundry facilities, and an onsite library, garden, and reflection room. Case managers provide individual and group support to women to help them stabilize and heal after experiences of homelessness, incarceration, substance abuse, or mental health concerns, and set and work toward their future goals. Supportive programming includes weekly chemical and mental health groups, financial literacy support, health, wellness, and arts activities and workshops, opportunities for sober fun, and community- building activities.
Next step Housing provides permanent supportive Housing to women and women-led families at our site-based, 12-unit, Haven housing-owned apartment building in north minneapolis and in 26 scattered-site units throughout hennepin county. Case managers work with residents in their homes to establish goal plans and provide individualized support, resources, and referrals to help each resident achieve their goals. Next step Housing staff provide support with landlord relationships and lease maintenance, education on independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, minor repairs, etc. ), health and wellness coaching, and assistance with education and employment. Supportive programming for next step Housing residents includes therapeutic arts activities, group outings, community- building activities, and holiday and birthday celebrations.
St. anne's place emergency shelter provides private family bedrooms and shared bathrooms, as well as personal care items, clothing, meals and snacks, and basic necessities for up to 16 women-led families and pregnant women each night. Our secured building is staffed 24 hours per day for the safety and security of our residents. Upon arrival, families meet with a team of advocates and case managers to help determine their needs and goals. Staff collaborate internally and with a network of supportive service partner organizations to provide coordinated services for each family, including Housing and employment searches, life skills, chemical health support, assistance with legal issues, mental health support, and overall family health and wellness. A children's coordinator facilitates children's intakes, assessments, and case management and supports communication between families and schools and/or childcare facilities, equips students with school supplies and uniforms, and leads indoor, outdoor, and off-site children's activities, including regular tutoring with trained volunteers.
