Program areas at Hattie Larlham Community Services
Provide supported employment and job training options to accomodate individuals with disabilities during each step of the employment process. Hattie Larlham Community living helps individuals with disabilities find, obtain and keep steady employment through on-going job coaching and other support Services. Vocational habilitation employment options provide individuals with disabilities with employment while they receive training and support that allow them to learn a variety of vocational and social skills.
Serve the day habilitation/activity needs of 250 individuals at 8 locations with profound disabilities and medically fragile conditions. Physical, emotional and learning needs are addressed every day by the staff of Hattie Larlham Community Services. Constant companion are day programs for individuals with disabilities which provide new hope and excitement for them and help expand their possibilities and accomplishments. It is a unique alternative to traditional work or day programs for people with developmental disabilities. The program focuses on the mutually beneficial interaction between people with disabilities and various domestic animals such as cats, rabbits, birds and fish. These animals are used as teaching aids to encourage participants to nurture and learn about the animals in their care.in addition, crafts, adaptive equipment and uses of switch technology provide stimulation and exciting program activities that promote prevocational and vocational skills while providing a long term basis for self mprovement on a daily basis.
Provide comprehensive Community Services to 46 adults with a wide range of medical conditions and abilities related to developmental disabilities. Hattie Larlham Community Services provides supported living Services where individuals interact with the Community and receive the ongoing 24/7 residential care and support from Hattie Larlham at 13 homes.
Provide in home private duty nursing and respite Services for 40 individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities. Personal care providers, lpns and rns provide respite Services for families when they are on vacation, at work or need assistance in caring for their lovedones.
