Program areas at Hatteras Island Ocean Center

Continue development and operation of Ocean Center Ecology Park. This includes two exhibit halls, a public marsh walk/paddlesports access/crabbing area, and offering ecology education programs to the general public.
Continue development of Turtle Sense, a program designed to reduce Cape Hatteras National Seashore beach closures due to sea turtle nesting activity. The second generation of Turtle Sense technology was deployed. Turtle Sense is conducted in close cooperation with the National Park Service.
Executed option agreement granting SAGA Construction & Development the right to purchase Ocean Center Beach Area real estate.
