Program areas at The Greenwall Foundation
The Foundation facilitates and provides ongoing mentoring, professional development and academic collaborations for scholars and alumni of The faculty scholars program to implement The goals of The grant-making initiative. This is carried out principally through organizing semi-annual meetings where scholars obtain feedback on their research and mentoring on career development and leadership skills. The Foundation also convenes and funds meetings of The Greenwall faculty scholars program committee to oversee The program.
The william c. stubing memorial lecture was held in person at nyu school of global public health and broadcast online on november 15, 2022 and featured ruha benjamin, phd, professor of african american studies at princeton university. Meghna chakrabarti, host of wbur's award-winning show, on point, moderated The discussion, titled "are robots racist? Rethinking automation and inequity in healthcare." Mr. stubing served as president of The Foundation for 21 years. The lecture series was created in his honor and is intended to reach a broad public audience to show how ethics impacts their everyday lives.
The Greenwall Foundation named mildred cho, phd, professor of pediatrics and medicine at stanford university, as The recipient of The inaugural bernard lo, md award in bioethics. The award recognized prof. cho for excellence in bioethics mentorship and for going above and beyond to support and guide rising bioethics professionals. The lo award honors dr. Lo's service to The Greenwall Foundation as its president & ceo (2012-2020) and founding director of The faculty scholars program. It conveys a cash prize of $25,000.
