Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center (GHS)

Geisinger-Bloomsburg Health Care Center ("gbhcc"), a tax-exempt Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation organized under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, owned and operated a 149-bed long-term Care, skilled nursing, and rehabilitation facility. Gbhcc was located in the town of bloomsburg approximately one quarter mile from Geisinger-Bloomsburg hospital. Gbhcc provided varying levels of nursing Care and medical services to residents including rehabilitative therapies, assistance with daily living activities, and 24-hour skilled nursing Care. Gbhcc provided physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. The therapies were designed to assist residents to achieve their highest possible functioning with the goal of returning to the community. Seventy-one percent of gbhcc discharges were to home or other less acute settings. To enhance their quality of life, all residents had activities incorporated into their daily routine. Some of the available activities were exercise programs and mental game challenges. Each activity was selected for the residents based on individual needs and abilities. In fy2018, its final year of operation, gbhcc provided their services to 235 individuals. Geisinger bloomsburg Health Care Center is in the process of winding down the legal entity.
