Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children will serve and act on behalf of the needs, rights and well-being of all young children and their families in Delaware. DAEYC will promote high quality early care and education programs for all children, birth through age eight. To strengthen the early care and education community by developing leadership, promoting high quality early care and education, and building community support. Wage$ provides education-based salary supplements to under paid teachers, directors, administrators and family child care providers, working with children birth through five. the participant must be working in a regulated (stars) early care and Education setting. the program must be a star 2 or higher. the initiative is designed to increase workforce retention, Education, and compensation. the wage$ participant receives a supplement every six months tied to the level of Education and retention in their program.
the purpose of the 21st century community learning center program is to help students improve in academics, attendance, behavior, promotion rates, and graduation rates through the 21st century community learning centers. This program supports the community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. the program helps students meet state student standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
T e a c h early childhood Delaware is a research based comprehensive strategy to educate and retain early childhood practitioners, positively impacting outcomes for the children in their care. T e a c h (teacher Education and compensation helps) is a proven effective strategy through its use of four key elements: scholarships, Education, compensation, and commitment.
