Prairie strips: this project focuses on scaling up adoption of prairie strips through farm bill programs (i.e. Crp and eqip). Establishing strips of native prairie grasses and forbs in row crop fields provided disproportionate benefits in terms of water quality, reduced soil erosion, improved soil health, and biodiversity for birds, pollinators and beneficial insects.
The borlaug cast communications award: this annual award is presented by the council for agriculture science and technology (cast) to deserving individuals promoting science-based agriculture and agriculture-related communications.
No taste for waste: this project focuses on the importance of crop protection products as a tool for reducing food loss and resource waste. We are promulgating the important message that crop protection products are critical to the cultivation of stronger and more plentiful produce with an increased shelf-life, as well as better soil health and stronger root systems that resist drought.
Cpbri: the crop protection benefits research institute (cpbri) is a research unit of the Croplife Foundation. Cpbri was established in january, 2004 as a research program focused on the economic analysis of agricultural pests, pest management, and pesticide use and regulation in the united states. It has documented the benefits of crop protection technologies, in material consumer terms as well as the promotion of social and environmental ideals, and is focusing more on the communication of these benefits to consumers and their political representatives.
