Program areas at Cope Family Support Center

The triple p - positive parenting program is one of the world's most effective parenting programs. It is based on evidence from ongoing scientific research, with more than 90 trials and studies around the world showing it works, regardless of a Family's culture, country or situation. This program is designed to contribute to a reduction in child abuse and domestic violence by enhancing Family and individual functioning, easing stressors that trigger abusive behavior, increasing awareness of domestic/child abuse and increasing awareness of high-risk situations. C.o.p.eCope.p.e. Served 780 parents during fiscal year 2018-19. 100% of parents participating in the program saw a decrease in; depression, anxiety, stress, instances of child misbehavior, and intensity of child mishbehavior.

The triple p parent education workshop is provided to parents in a variety of languages such as arabic and spanish, enabling c.o.p.eCope.p.e. To access underserved communities and provide culturally relevant and inclusive services. C.o.p.eCope.p.e. Is committed to offering parent education to all parents, empowering them to become fully self-sufficient, capable of dealing with possible future high-risk situations. C.o.p.eCope.p.e. Has also been able to tailor the triple p curriculum to court-mandated/cfs-involved parents. Incorporating protective parenting factors into weekly class discussions reinforces parents' ability to retain these strategies and implement them with their children. By providing a non-judgmental class environment that welcomes discussion around child abuse prevention, parents have an increased opportunity to have their specific concerns and challenges addressed, with the Support of the class facilitator and other parent participants in similar situations. 90% of parents participating in the 2018-19 c.o.p.eCope.p.e. Triple p program reported reduction in symptoms of depression, anxiety ...

During the 2018-19 fiscal year, c.o.p.eCope.p.e. 's supporting father involvement (sfi) program saw an increase in class enrollment with 100% retention. 50% of participants voluntarily attended sfi to learn more about improving their relationship with Family members and children. 90 - 96% of fathers were able to address specific challenges as a parent and 89% reported improved relationships with Family members. The sfi program received much Support from pittsburg unified school district with regularly held sfi group meetings attended by fathers of students in the school district. After class completion, self-directed Support groups were created by attendees with participation in group playdates, watching sports together, exchanging skills such as fixing a participant's car and helping another father participant move to a new home.
