Program areas at Champions of Wayne
Mentoring activity is the central activity of the Champions of Wayne organization. Mentors are all unpaid volunteers, responsible adults drawn principally from Wayne memorial high school faculty, but also alumni and community leaders. Throughout the coure of each semester, adult mentors will meet with studnets to encourage, inspire, and help reach their goals.
At the end of each semester, an awards banquet is held to honor those students who have reached their goals. The students' families and mentors are invited to attend the event. Dinner and dessert are provided to all the guests and the banquet is free of charge. This activity supports the charitable purpose of Champions of Wayne by providing public recognition and a monetary award for students who succeed in achieving their goals for the semester.
