Program areas at California Council on Problem Gambling

The Problem Gambling helpline program provides 24 hours a day help line services to callers concerned with Problem Gambling related issues. The ccpg outsources the helpline services to morneau shepell. Ms provides their own staff of trained counselors equipped to help with the callers needs, ranging from information on gamblers anonymous meetings, counseling, treatment, and/or confidential conversations on topics covered by the hotline.
The training program provides training for both clinical professionals who want to take the national certification exam for Gambling counselors and for the industry for basic education appropriate for gaming employees. This training and education assists professionals in providing high quality and consistent service to Problem gamblers and their families. Certification provides all practitioners with a marketable credential that may be accepted as an essential, preferred or alternative credential by employers, state and local officials or accreditation bodies.
