Van transportation program:this program provides safe pick-up for our members from 18 elementary and 3 middle schools in Simi Valley. Our drivers are trained and certified according to chp requirements. They safely transport over 150 children per day to the Club. We provide our parents peace of mind knowing that their children are being picked up and cared for safely.
After school safety and education program (ases:in 2/07, the Boys and Girls Club of Simi Valley expanded our after-school program to provide free after-school care, transportation, home work help, and one-on-one tutoring to 180 disadvantaged children at Simi's two title i schools. Most participating students from these schools fall below academic grade level standards and are from families who are unable to help with homework because they don't speak english. The Club's ases program is curriculum-based and aligned with school requirements. Our instructors are certified by the school district standards. Since the inception of the program, we have seen dramatic improvement in participant's academic proficiencies, and would like to continue to expand the program by offering more students the help they need to succeed.
