Validating email addresses

Cause IQ helps prevent your emails from getting bounced

Cause IQ uses a third-party email validation service to help evaluate the email addresses in the system. As much as possible, we want to make sure you won't send an email that bounces (as a reminder, all emails sent to addresses from Cause IQ must comply with the CAN-SPAM Act). For the email addresses that we have validated, here are what the various grades mean:

Grades A+ and A: These are the best email addresses, confirmed to be deliverable. Emails marked A+ also have a confirmed history of email deliverability.

Grade B: These emails were accepted by the server, but where the server accepts pretty much all emails coming into it. These should be deliverable, but are not confirmed as deliverable.

Grade D: These emails have unknown deliverability, because the email server is up-and-running, but none of the usually validation methods worked. Treat these with caution.

Grade F: These are undeliverable email addresses. Cause IQ automatically excludes all F-graded emails from our system.
