South Texas Literacy Coalition partners with Literacy Texas to offer one-day literacy symposiums, funded by the Volunteer Training Initiative grant from the Texas Workforce Commission. These symposiums provide free professional development for volunteers. The coalition also runs The Story Walk Project, a community engagement event that promotes literacy through the transformation of book pages into signs laid out on a trail. This invites families, children, caregivers, teachers, and others to follow the path of pages.
