Program areas at Open Stories Foundation

In 2022 mormon Stories podcast released somewhere between 185 and 230 long form episodes in both audio and video format (depending on how you count). We also released 77 video shorts on youtube, and around 160 tiktok shorts. Our youtube channel experienced 19.m views and 5.3m watch time hours in 2022. This represented a 248% increase in yoy views, and an 81% increase in watch time hours. Our youtube channel also experienced an increase in 49,000 subscribers. Facebook reach was up 202% at 10.8m. Instagram reach was up 299% to 350,630. Audio-only downloads for 2022 were 11.9m on libsyn. Our tiktok account had around 200k subscribers by the end of 2022. All of these metrics add up to over 42m long form video views and audio downloads for 2022 (not counting tiktok views). While we are ecstatic about our yoy reach in 2022, our best measure of mission success is found in the thousands of emails, dms, letters, and personal comments we received from our listeners and viewers in 2022, about the positive impact that mormon Stories podcast has had on their lives, and in the lives of their families. We continue to feel super excited about our mission of: 1) providing informed consent to mormons and non-mormons about the lds church, 2) providing support and community for mormons in faith crisis, and for those leaving the lds church, and 3) providing information and support for our growing audience of never-mormons who either come from high-demand religions themselves, or who are fascinated by the world of mormonism.
