Program areas at Enzian Theater

Founded in 1985, Enzian Theater is the oldest full-time, not-for-profit cinema in the state of Florida with an ever growing commitment to being a vital part of its community - culturally, educationally, and developmentally. Enzian provides screenings of the finest cinema available year-round and offers special programming in the form of educational screenings for children and families, meet-the-filmmaker events, ticket donations, and film festivals for minority and underserved audiences in the diverse central Florida community. Since its inception Enzian has exposed over 1.5 million people to nearly 4,000 films and currently serves approximately 50,000 patrons annually. Programs include the jewish film festival, south asian film festival, reel short teen film festival, cult and family classics, music mondays and free family movies in the park. Enzian is a collaborative organization, exemplifying how movies are a vehicle for community building that serves to inform and enlighten in educational, social, and cultural contexts.
Enzian is home to the internationally acclaimed Florida film festival. The Florida film festival exists to entertain, inspire, educate, and connect the community with new work from independent filmmakers, providing those artists with a crucial exhibition platform, and to offer a welcoming place for film enthusiasts and film professionals to interact. The Florida film festival is held in april. Its high-quality film/media art reaches an increasingly global audience through year-round programming, culminating in the annual Florida film festival. Additionally, Enzian creates dynamic partnerships with a broad range of educational institutions, cultural organizations, and business entities to explore the powerful influence of media as an instrument of expression, education, and empowerment. For fiscal year, the film festival was postponed to august 2020.
