Program areas at Center for Mind and Culture

The Center for Mind and Culture, Inc. Promotes and conducts research at the intersection of Culture and the Mind. The Center trains students, scholars, and scientists in the multidisciplinary methods needed to conduct such research effectively and responsibly. The Center disseminates research results to deepen public and scholarly understanding of the mind-culture nexus; to equip experts to resolve conflicts that arise in this area; and to help cultural, political, medical, and religious leaders enhance physical, mental, spiritual, and social wellbeing. The Center oversees two subdivisions, both registered as dba's with the city of boston: the institute for the biocultural study of religion (ibcsr), a research initiative focused on the scientific study of religion, and c4consortium (c4c), a research initiative focusing on the interaction of climate change and conflict resolution.furthermore, the Center provides all manner of service and support to public nonprofit entities, nonprofit organizations, and individuals with purposes compatible with those of the Center. It carries on any other charitable or educational activity within the meaning of internal revenue code section 501(c)(3). It exercises any power available to a corporation organized under chapter 180 of the Massachusetts general laws. It does and performs such things and acts and transacts such business in connection with but not inconsistent with chapter 180 of the Massachusetts general laws, and section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code of 1986, as amended (or any successor provision or provisions for either).
