Program areas at California Black Womens Collective Empowerment Institute

California Black Womens Think Tank: A national model of action and research that advances advocacy and addresses disparity gaps that impact the quality-of-life indexes for California Black Women, their families, and their communities at large throughout California. The mission of the California Black Womens Think Tank is to provide actionable policy solutions to eradicate persistent and evolving barriers that Black Women and Girls experience in California. It is a forum for leading experts, scholars, and business leaders to participate in major public policy debates and promotes ideas that advance Black Women and their families. It uses evidence-based research, analysis, convenings, and strategic communications to support California Black Women, their families, and their communities at large. The Think Tank includes three components: Research and Innovation Institute; Professional Development Institute; and the Black Talent Initiative.
Protecting Black Women and Girls: Initiative that focuses on the safety and health of Black Women and Girls through programs, projects, and campaigns.
Conversation for Black Women: Initiative that includes informative, resource rich events and activities that are designed to reset the conversation around issues important to Black Women. The initiative includes bringing together subject matter experts, policymakers, business leaders, activist, labor and community leaders to have robust conversations on what needs to be done to help Black Women, their families and their communities on issues that impact their lives as well as to address disparity gaps, develop policy change and drive practice transformation.
