Description

The AIB has been the auto industry’s service bureau here in Massachusetts since 1925, throughout the “Fix and Establish” era, and now in the “Managed Competition” era. We are an all-service organization for Personal and Commercial Auto offering rating support, rules and forms support, actuarial and legal services and much more for our 270+ member companies. In today’s environment, we provide the foundation on which companies can operate in Massachusetts, providing a broad array of services for both new entrants, and seasoned Massachusetts based insurers.

The Bureau submitted rate filings for commercial automobiles on behalf of its member companies, advisory rate filings for private passenger automobiles and filings for policy rules and forms changes as needed.

The Bureau continued to update and maintain a detail claim database for member company use to investigate automobile insurance claims, and for regulators and prosecutors in fighting insurance fraud.

The Bureau provided actuarial analysis and support for its member companies, including loss cost analysis, accident year quarterly comparisons, loss trend analysis and town index analysis.
