The Atlanta Land Trust delivers and stewards permanently affordable housing to support inclusive, equitable communities near the Atlanta Beltline and other targeted areas in the city of Atlanta. The organization advocates for supportive long-term affordable housing policy and funding, working to create a favorable environment for community land trust development. ALT played a role in drafting legislation to be introduced at the state level, providing nonprofit organizations with the tools they need to develop CLTs in Georgia's urban communities.

Program areas at Atlanta Land Trust

The Atlanta Land Trust collaborates with communities to co-create solutions to their affordable housing challenges with the goal of creating 300 permanently affordable, energy-efficient homes by 2025. In 2022 ALT continued to advance the development of three affordable townhome communities: 1091 Tucker Avenue, 1024 Donnelly Avenue and 697 Fayetteville Road. In 2022, ALT commenced construction on phase 1 of 1091 Tucker Avenue, closed on the acquisition and financing of the 2-acre site at 697 Fayetteville Road and completed rezoning and entitlements for 1024 Donnelly Avenue. The Atlanta Land Trust works to create a favorable environment for CLT development by advocating for supportive long-term affordable housing policy and funding. ALT worked to draft legislation to be introduced at the state level providing nonprofit organizations property tax exemptions.
The Atlanta Land Trust strives to be a community-centered 'Trusted Partner' with a proven model and capacity to partner with communities. We worked to expand awareness and understanding of ALT and the community land trust model so that ALT will be recognized as the go-to organization for permanently affordable housing in Atlanta. In 2022 ALT hosted 11 monthly Community Information Sessions and attended over 100 community meetings. See further information on Schedule O
