Program areas at ACC

Acc is one of the largest Animal welfare organizations in the country, taking in approximately 25,000 animals each year. Acc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that rescues, cares for and finds loving homes for animals throughout the five boroughs of Nyc. Acc has an agreement with the City of New York to be an open-admissions organization, which means it never turns away any homeless, abandoned, injured or sick animals in need of help, including cats, dogs, rabbits, small mammals, reptiles, birds, farm animals and wildlife. In addition, acc focuses its services on pet retention and surrender prevention by engaging underserved communities in Nyc, offering services like free vaccine clinics, vouchers for medical services and spay/neuter, a pet food pantry and basic obedience training.through its contract for services with the Nyc department of health and mental hygiene, acc does not rely on donor contributions as a primary source for staff salaries or other administrative expenses associated with contract services. Under this public/private funding approach, acc uses funding from its donors primarily for programs and services that are not funded by the contract with the City to enhance Animal Care and other services that acc provides throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
