Program areas at AIGA
Membership and chapter development: aiga returned 30 percent of membership dues to local chapters to fund events with invited speakers, professional development programs, exhibitions and activities to strengthen the local professional design community. Chapters are run by volunteer boards and add to the vitality of the organization by providing occasions for networking and continued exposure to information and opportunities for professional development.
Publishing: aiga's publications provide a critical forum for intellectual assessment of communications design and the profession. Numerous resources are provided on the website as part of aiga's authoritative voice on professional standards. Eye on design's award-winning digital publications cover the world's most exciting designers and the issues they care about.
Programs & events: aiga convened the aiga design conference in-person and online in october 2022 bringing together more than 1,300 attendees for an immersive exploration of the future of design; the aiga design + business conference took place virtually in may 2022 and took a deep dive into the creative process with 166 attendees;; the aiga worldstudio scholarships program received 294 applications, 9 students were awarded scholarships and 4 students received honorable mention awards;; the 50 books / 50 covers competition received 696 entries; aiga held book events with over 500 attendees
