The American Academy of Ophthalmology, with a global community of 32,000, is the largest trade organization in the world for ophthalmologists. We are eye physicians and surgeons, dedicated to protecting sight and empowering lives. As the leader in ophthalmic education, the Academy offers a wealth of materials to support our physicians in every aspect of practice - including the online ophthalmic news and education (one) network, practice management tools, the innovative iris registry (intelligent research in sight), and eye health resources for patients and the public. We produce the largest annual ophthalmic convention in the world, which for the 2021 annual meeting (held in-person november 12th - 15th) brought together domestic physicians, international physicians, other health professionals, exhibitors, and guests to share the latest advances and technology in ophthalmic medicine. We relentlessly advocate for the highest quality eye care, representing ophthalmologists and their patients before the government and other organizations that influence eye care policy.
